Chandler Dominates in Win Over Delaware


In a packed house at Hollydell this past Saturday night, the Profs were attempting a sweep of the Delaware Blue Hens in their weekend matchup. 

After coming off of a win on the road in Delaware, the Profs were ready to go, searching for a sweep.

The Blue Hens were the first on the board with the help of #24 Joe Wogisch just less than two minutes into the first period.

Rowan answered quick with a goal from #7 Aadan Plank, to tie things up.

Cam Chandler scored two goals in the first game of the weekend in Delaware, and he was ready to score more.

“I’ve just been starting to get the puck to the net, and starting to shoot more.” Chandler said.


On the power play the Profs were able to take advantage and Chandler would bury his first goal of the night with just over 6:00 left to play in the first. 


Then again, Chandler could not be stopped. Using his speed he was able to fly into Delaware’s zone, and light the lamp through the five hole of the Blue Hen’s goalie Joe Hooper.

By the start of the second period, Rowan was firmly in control. They drew penalties and slammed Hooper with shots, but Delaware’s goalie kept the Blue Hens in the game with several key saves.

 The Profs found themselves short-handed early in the period, and the Blue Hens had a golden opportunity to cut the lead to one. However, Rowan’s Jacob Booth came up huge with a remarkable sliding glove save on a cross-ice pass, preserving the two-goal lead.

Delaware would later on score in the 2nd making it 3-2 Profs, but it seemed like Rowan had an answer for everything. While short handed Rowan played the puck through center ice. Landing short of the crease, Blue Hens goalie Joe Hooper misplayed it while JT Zangara was able to regroup and put it in the almost empty net. 

Zangara was playing in his 100th game, and only fitting for him to bury one. 

Chandler with two goals in the first period was looking for that third, for the fans to throw their hats. He had a back door opportunity that just went wide off his stick. 

“Yeah I missed the net, I got to bury that one and put that in.” Chandler said. 

With 5:21 left in the 2nd period, Chandler was able to score that 3rd goal, making it 5 goals in two games for the forward. 

Rowan then would go up 6-3 with the help of Brian Bowman. Feeling a comfortable lead in the later minutes of the 3rd, the Blue Hens were not finished yet. Scoring two unanswered goals, in less then two minutes Rowan found themselves with a one goal lead.

Booth stayed strong to hold them off, and Rowan secured the victory 6-5, and a sweep of the weekend. 

Assistant coach Ian Kliewe is proud and looking forward to what is to come.

“It’s a great win, Chandler played great, penalty kill and powerplay was great. I’m proud of these guys, and looking forward to what we can do down the stretch.” Kliewe said. 

Rowan now heads into the Christmas break with momentum, and Chandler remains focused on the team’s playoff aspirations. 

"Take it into Christmas break and just come back stronger than we have. If we don’t keep winning then we won’t make the playoffs and that's our goal, that’s what we want to do.” Chandler said.

Flyers Shut Out vs Devils in Home and Home Finale

  The Flyers came into New Jersey to finish their home-and home series. Coming into tonight the flyers planned on sweeping the series, but the Devils felt different. The Devils would score four goals in the second period, and with the help from Jake Allen who recorded a 24 save shutout.  The Flyers had multiple chances throughout the second period, especially with power plays. Sean Couturier, Travis Konecny, and Michkov all had chances at the net, but could not capitalize.  There was a crucial moment where Owen Tippett was hit at center ice, without touching the puck. Tippett limped into the locker room and did not come back out the rest of the night. Flyers coach John Tortorella was visibly upset on the bench, yelling for an interference call. Tortorella watched it back, and questioned his concerns. “I just didn’t think the puck was there, I played it back after the game and the puck is there.” Tortorella said.  He did not have an update on Tippett after the game....

Phillies opening day lineup. What will it look like

So far throughout this spring, the Phillies have been testing new lineups. It appears that they are looking around switching up the lead off spot. There are plenty of bats in that lineup that can succeed as a leadoff hitter. Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, Bryson Stott, J.T. Realmuto, and more.  Schwarber has been the primary leadoff hitter for the Phillies. Last year he batted .248 with 38 home runs and 104 RBIs. Schwarber has tremendous power, and loves to hit lead off home runs. However, would that power be better deeper in the lineup? Trea Turner has not had the best at bats for the Phillies. His chase rate has been higher than before, and he has struggled in some slumps.  Moving Turner in the leadoff position may change his mindset to see more pitches, and not chase.  Having speed at the top of the lineup is huge for a team, especially when you have bats like Harper, and Realmuto waiting to drive him in.  Stott also was thrown in as a leadoff hitter for some time l...

Issues with the Phillies lineup, and how it has worked so far

By: Trevor Torino Opening day we saw Trea Turner lead off for the Philadelphia Phillies, in D.C. Turner went 0-4 with a walk, and a strikeout at the dish. As there were concerns about who was leading off, between Turner and Kyle Schwarber. We soon found out that Schwarber does not have to hit leadoff in order to hit homeruns. Schwarber put two balls over the fence at Nationals Park with one in the clean up spot, and another in the leadoff spot. Turner missed the last game in D.C. after he was a late scratch due to back spasms.  I believe it is fair to say that we understand Schwarber can hit anywhere in the lineup, as he still managed to hit a homerun in the leadoff spot on Monday, at the Phillies home opener. Turner was out of the lineup in the home opener, but did come off the bench in the bottom of the 7th to pinch hit.
